Hose Bibs (Outdoor Spigots)

Installations, repairs, and freeze-proof upgrades.

Forsee Plumbing Co. fixes and installs exterior hose bibs (sillcocks/spigots) across the Ohio–Kentucky–Indiana tri-state area. For active leaks or burst pipes, call (513) 271-6720.

What We Handle

  • New hose bib installs and relocations (front, back, garage, yard)
  • Frost-free sillcock upgrades to reduce freeze risk
  • Interior shutoff valves with drains for proper winterization
  • Leaking/dripping spigots, stripped handles, broken stems
  • Loose/missing mounting—secure brackets and clean wall penetrations
  • Water behind the wall from split pipes or failed fittings
  • Add a second spigot or hot/cold mixing for washing pets, cars, or patios

Common Problems (And Fixes)

  • Drips at the spout → rebuild/replace stem and washers or replace the unit
  • Leak when turned on (water shows up inside) → failed vacuum breaker or split pipe behind the wall; repair piping and replace the sillcock
  • Won’t shut off fully → worn seat/cartridge; rebuild or replace
  • Freezing every winter → upgrade to frost-free with proper pitch and interior shutoff/drain
  • Low flow → undersized line, kinks, debris in aerator/vacuum breaker; correct line and clean/replace parts

Smart Upgrades

  • Frost-free sillcocks: Longer body sits inside the heated space; we install with proper downward pitch so trapped water drains out.
  • Interior shutoff with drain: Close and drain the exterior line for winter—quick and effective.
  • Anti-siphon/vacuum breaker: Protects your home’s water from backflow; we use listed, code-compliant components.
  • Hot + cold mixing: Dedicated laundry/utility use outdoors without dragging hoses through the house.

Our Process

  1. Assessment & access – Find the nearest tie-in, check pipe type (copper/PEX), and plan a clean route.
  2. Installation/repair – Secure mounting, sleeve and seal wall penetrations, neat interior connections, and accessible shutoffs.
  3. Testing – Pressure test, verify shutoff/drain function, and confirm no leaks inside or out.
  4. Cleanup & walkthrough – Label valves and show proper winterization steps.

Winterization Quick Tips

  • Before freezing temps, close the interior shutoff, open the exterior spigot, and drain the line.
  • Disconnect hoses—do not leave hoses attached in winter.
  • If a freeze happens and water won’t flow, do not use a torch. Call (513) 271-6720.
